This was the third film version of Dashiell Hammett’s detective novel, and without a doubt, the best. This classic film noir was directed by John Huston, a long-established screenwriter who was making his directorial debut. Humphrey Bogart would achieve true stardom portraying Sam Spade, a hard-boiled San Francisco private eye, who at times uses unscrupulous methods as a means to an end, but also adheres to his own personal code of honour. This very rare and moody three sheet presents beautifully, with a great image of Bogie.
