BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S (1961) Original US 40 X 60. To my knowledge there are less than a handful of known copies in the world to have survived. Audrey Hepburn is the most collectable female star, and TIFFANY’S is her most asked about title. This poster was printed on a heavy card stock and not paper, few have survived. From the moment she steps out from her cab to indulge in a little window shopping at Tiffany’s with coffee and Danish in hand, there is no doubt that this is Audrey Hepburn’s movie. It’s New York, 1960s, and Hepburn is Holly Golightly, a social butterfly who spends her time on pricey dates and high society parties. Her free spirited nature is altered when she meets her neighbour, a struggling writer (George Peppard) who is kept by a wealthy woman (Patricia Neal). With great charm and comedic timing, Hepburn is able to convey both Golightly’s resilience and fragility, all while wearing fabulous, and now iconic, desingner duds and accessories by Givenchy. This is the poster every Hepburn fan should own ! For his very first film poster commission, artist Robert McGinnis (Thunderball, Barbarella) delivered this splendid image of Audrey Hepburn as ‘Holly Golightly’. The quintessential collectible from one of Hollywood’s most timeless and beloved films.
