This poster has the fantastic Tom Jung art that was designed for the primary UK campaign when the film first came out. In fact, this is THE very 1st printing! It has the special silver title. It’s special because it cost MUCH more than the white title subsequent printings of this quad they rendered. The silver ink used to print the title on this 1st outing is a metallic ink that had to be specially applied to the poster via an additional run thru the press. The silver is not a mix of the primary colours used to print the rest of the poster. This additional application of colour is what the printing industry calls a “process” colour. Beyond the silver title, what makes this 1st printing extra special is the extraordinarily intense colours throughout the rest of the poster. They FAR surpass the white title second printings. The more intense colours are one of the clear ways you can tell this is a RARE 1st printing! “Star Wars” sequel, considered by many to be the best in the series, the battle to save the galaxy from the evil Darth Vader rages on. This is the more desirable ‘silver titles’ first printing from the first UK release.
