This poster was created for Universal’s release of the film in 1962. The first release was of course from Paramount in 1954. Considered by many critics to be one of Hitchcock’s masterpieces, this film tells the story of a wheelchair bound photographer (Stewart), who spies on his neighbours from his apartment window and becomes convinced that one of them has committed murder. The film focuses on the seduction of crime, not in committing it but in the act of discovering it. The entire movie was shot on one set, the largest indoor set ever built at Paramount studios at the time.
A photographer in a wheelchair spies on his neighbours from his Greenwich Village courtyard apartment window, and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder, despite the skepticism of his fashion-model girlfriend.
